What We Do

Helping Georgia’s Most Vulnerable Children Thrive Through Essential Support

Our Vision

To help abused and neglected children experience a kind and nurturing daily life while displaced in foster and relative care.

Our Mission

To strengthen the ability of foster and relative care families to meet the needs of their displaced children by implementing a community-based resource and education that can decrease the need for institutionalized care.

“…What a gift to foster families to have this care—with so much to think about, especially in the early days of a new placement, this takes away a heavy burden!…”

— Jami Stocks

About Us

The Foster Care Support Foundation (FCSF) serves a vital and growing need throughout Georgia by providing free resources to displaced children in foster and kinship care. Since 2000, we have supported thousands of children by supplying essential items such as clothing, shoes, toys, books, school supplies, and infant care equipment—all at no cost to the families who care for them. These resources alleviate financial burdens on caregivers while ensuring that children have what they need to thrive emotionally, socially, and physically.

Our programs are designed to address the diverse needs of displaced children. At the core is our FosterCares™️ Distribution Program, which provides essential items year-round to children in foster and kinship care. Additionally, our Grands Raising Grands Holiday Wish Program ensures that children in relative care experience the joy of the holiday season with thoughtful gifts. For teen girls in foster or relative care, Prom-a-Palooza offers a day of pampering where they can select dresses, shoes, and accessories to attend their prom confidently. These programs create moments of normalcy and joy for children facing challenging circumstances, giving them opportunities to feel supported and included.

FCSF supports children in court-ordered, DFCS, and private agency foster homes, as well as those living in relative care, fictive kin arrangements, or with grandparents raising grandchildren, provided biological parents do not reside in the home. Depending on the caregiving type, a DFCS case number may not be required. We also assist youth aging out of foster care, offering clothing and essentials for two years after they exit care, as long as they are living independently or pursuing secondary education.

FCSF partners with Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), private child placement agencies, school counselors, Georgia State University’s Project Healthy Grandparents, and faith-based organizations to identify and verify children in need. By focusing on accessibility, we ensure our resources reach the most vulnerable children and families across the state.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, FCSF relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to carry out its mission. By equipping foster and kinship families with the essentials they need, we bring stability and hope to displaced children, empowering them to overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
